Germany snuck by the Netherlands 68-66. The Germans sat David Kramer, Andrea Obst, Daniel Theis and Franz Wagner. Without their services, Maodo Lo stepped up with 16 points to lead the way; Denis Schroder and Johannes Voightmana chipped in 14 apiece.
The Netherlands got within one at 67-66 with 14 seconds to go in the contest. Lo had a chance to put Deutschland up by three, but bricked both free throws. However the Netherlands was unable to take advantage of this gift horse, failing to protect their defensive backboards, which allowed Germany to secure the critical offensive rebound. Dennis Schroder was fouled and split his free throws to put the Germans up by two, leaving the game at its final score of 68-66.
